It’s May, and it's time to party island-style. The Nantucket Wine & Food Festival is back in full swing for another spectacular experience. With a lineup of top-notch winemakers, award-winning chefs and renowned luminaries this year’s festival is sure to be a showstopper. Grab your Sperry Top-Siders and crisp up the collar on your Izod - we’re heading to Nantucket. And here are some of the things you won't want to miss.
1. Island Hopping with Chefs Jose Enrique & Michael Scelfo
Spend an afternoon sampling coastally-inspired cuisine from award-winning chefs expertly paired with craftily-concocted cocktails in a celebration of the flavors of San Juan! Chef Jose Enrique, owner/chef of his eponymous restaurant in San Juan, teams up with Cambridge’s own culinary rockstar Michael Scelfo (Alden & Harlow, Waypoint) to serve attendees a luncheon of unforgettable tastes. Alden & Harlow’s beverage director Seth Freidus keeps the good times rolling with cocktail demonstrations and pairings for each course.

2. Lobsta & Bubbles: Champagne et La Mer
What could possibly be better than sipping on Veuve Clicquot Champagne and eating lobster while overlooking Nantucket Harbor? Yeah, I can’t think of anything either. Veuve Clicquot’s own winemaker Dominique Demarville will taste you through their Yellow Label, Vintage and rosé sparklers while über-talented chefs Brian Alberg (Red Lion Inn) and Kevin O’Donnell (SRV) keep you rolling in expertly-paired lobster dishes.

3. La Fête
This translates to “the party”. More like THE party. From the Champagne reception to the seemingly endless waves of incredible wines and culinary treats, this promises to be a wine dinner like no other. Guests are invited to bring special bottles from their own cellar to augment the selections being served by Taittinger, Kistler Vineyards, and others. Chefs Bruce Sacino (The Westmoor Club) and Brian Alberg (Red Lion Inn, Eat on North) will be creating culinary masterpieces for attendees, while pastry chef extraordinaire Ryan Boya (Liquid Art House) keeps your sweet tooth smiling. Need to feel good about such amazing indulgence? Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the NWF Culinary Arts Mentoring Program.

4. The Culinary Tent

The Grand Tastings are the heart & soul of The Nantucket Wine & Food Festival. Experience over 600 different wines from more than 150 prestigious wineries from around the world. Delicious food from local restaurants and artisan purveyors keep a smile on everyone’s lips. With names like Pahlmeyer, Elk Cove Vineyards and Piper-Heidsieck serving up sips of liquid sunshine this is an event that cannot, should not be missed!
